Cultivating Faith by Living Areté
Today is the 1 year anniversary of my 1:1 with Brian, when I had the privilege to ask a soulful question about Faith.
Here’s my best interpretation of what Brian shared on Faith:
It’s two-fold: a) an integration of all the virtues (the luminous center filling the virtue compass) AND b) an epiphenomenon (the radiant expansionary by-product through consistently expressing these virtues).
A trust in a larger force that we can align with and be a conduit for (via living in harmony with our daimon).
A trust that, despite doubts or imperfections along the way, we are on a path of continual growth towards our highest potential.
AND, the ultimate commitment to experiencing Faith is to live with Areté.
So, what’s happened since this conversation 365 days ago? My faith has grown exponentially.
Plugging in & idiosyncratically practicing Areté in Energy/Work/Love, I cultivated faith. Life’s rich soil of experiences & PUH fertilized my growth. Seeds sprouted. Saplings spurted. And a sturdy forest sprung.
I got to experience an epic 3-month World Travel Adventure with my wife & son then forge our new life in California; navigated a tough on-going turnaround situation with my business; finished a Spartan Super; & completed a Heroic 143 Daily Forge project (wrap-up content soon).
Humbly & imperfectly, I’ve been cultivating faith by living Areté. Cultivating. Cultivating. Cultivating.
Then 3 weeks ago, I experienced perhaps my life’s greatest spiritual breakthrough—through transcendent faith. Like a Big Bang, that luminous center burst in radiant glory—serenely.
